slick internet marketing - Denmark's Bikini Bandits and qashqai "world's fastest growing sport, underground, extreme"
Note to self: 1) learn how to drive; 2) get international drivers' license; 3) get visa for Denmark; 4) use accumulated vacation days cruising streets looking for that which does not exist.
I often can't get widgets to work in Blogger (I live in hope). An embedded video (eye-catching spoof newsreport) is meant to be above this para and below the screenshot; anyway, try speedbandits.dk.
via: KandaNewsNetwork where the video is not only embedded in his site but also the RSS feed. My usual view of Google is that they can do no wrong. But this time I think Blogger done me wrong. The limitations around CSS, javascript, flash, RSS make me feel like a poor relative of the residents of the land of WordPress and TypePad. I guess it's because I am a poor relative, paying Google zero for the software and hosting.
The widget itself is streamed from 5x5m.com, which seems to be the microsite of choice for spoof news designed to be spread over the internet as part of a marketing campaign. For example, it currently directs to http://5x5m.com/files/qashqai which is a short clip of what appears to be a car speeding up a ramp to launch into a 360 and barrel-roll. It's a promo for the over-the-top http://qashqaicargames.com/. It's obviously all advertising, but I was still a click or two away from figuring out it's connected with Nissan U.K. and buzz they are trying to build around an "urbanproof" vehicle http://www.nissan.co.uk/home/microsite/qashqai/fullscreen/index.html
